The anniversary patch snuck next step of Symmetra and Lucio’s stories

The new Overwatch Anniversary patch snuck inside an unprecedented number of lobby interactions between heroes. Lobby interactions appear in a neat stage of Schrodinger’s Canon—they are how characters would interact, and everything they are saying is based off canon, in-character fact ... but after all this in the story, those characters might not have met, or might not be currently up-to-date. We can just look at the interactions out of this patch determine what the current canon is for certain characters, and what's going to happen to them next.

Symmetra thinks that Lucio’s father was loyal on the company. We don’t understand what happened to the man, but he’s referred to inside the past tense here. Is he dead? Missing? We don’t know, so his actual mindset is up inside air. Lucio thinks that Vishkar used him, Symmetra thinks that she was a loyal company man.

This is actually awkward, because Symmetra’s boss (who we see within the comic A Better World and Moira’s origins cinematic) works for Talon. He is using her, and so it seems pretty likely he used Lucio’s father also.

Lucio and Symmetra have already been enemies since the first day, even so the story is angling to place them into contact prepare yourself ... along with perhaps it won’t be via combat. Symmetra could eventually find out about her boss’s betrayal, and she’ll know one individual who defied Vishkar: Lucio.
